En prélude à un vaste projet de modernisation de son système éditorial, l’AFP décide de s’appuyer sur le trio technologique Antidot - TEMIS - Mondeca pour déployer une solution d’analyse et de recherche d’information adaptée aux contenus multimédias qu’elle produit (dépêches, photos, infographies et vidéos).

L’AFP souhaite disposer rapidement d’une solution permettant à ses clients professionnels de rechercher efficacement dans un flux quotidien croissant d’information multimédia et multilingue, ainsi que dans une archive dont la taille est estimée à plus de vingt millions de documents. Cette application doit en premier lieu être intégrée à la plateforme Web de commercialisation de photos de l’AFP, nommée « Image Forum ».

Fort de ces éléments, l’AFP décide fin 2007 de sélectionner des partenaires technologiques lui permettant de répondre à son besoin en associant des solutions de Text Mining, d’indexation XML et de recherche sémantique.

Pour répondre au projet de l’AFP, TEMIS, Mondeca et Antidot décident de proposer une réponse conjointe : TEMIS propose Luxidâ, une application de Text Mining qui peut traiter l’ensemble des langues gérées par l’AFP ; Mondeca fournit ITM, un système de gestion de référentiels métiers qui peut gérer les taxonomies et thésaurus multilingues de l’Agence ; Antidot met en avant AFS, une plateforme d’indexation et de recherche adaptée aux documents XML délivrés par l’AFP. Les trois sociétés ont l’habitude de travailler ensemble, les trois solutions ont déjà été interconnectées dans d’autres contextes applicatifs, et le déploiement de la solution ne nécessite pas l’intervention d’un intégrateur.

« Après avoir étudié le marché du Text Mining, des moteurs de recherche d’entreprise, et prototypé plusieurs solutions, nous avons acquis la conviction que la qualité des développements réalisés par ces trois entreprises françaises et l’enthousiasme de leurs équipes nous permettront d’obtenir une solution performante, parfaitement adaptée à nos besoins et très évolutive. Nous disposerons d’ici la fin de l’année 2008 d’une plateforme de recherche d’information cross-médias innovante, intégrant les plus récents standards de la presse et du Web Sémantique, tels que NewsML-G2 et OWL », déclare Laurent Le Meur, responsable technique du Médialab AFP.

Actuellement en cours de mise au point, cette solution s’adressera d’ici 2009 aux clients médias de l’AFP, qui effectuent sur la plateforme B2B « Image Forum » des recherches complexes sur une base de 8 millions de photos proposées par l’AFP et ses seize partenaires (dont Getty Images). L’utilisation de ces puissants moyens de Text Mining et de recherche d’information devrait être ensuite étendue aux besoins internes des journalistes de l’Agence pour la recherche d’archive et de documentation multimédia, ainsi qu’à l’amélioration des métadonnées qui accompagnent les contenus délivrés en temps-réel sur les fils de l’AFP.

Dans le prolongement du colloque d’avril 2002 qui avait réuni à l’ESIEE, sur le même thème, plus de 350 personnes, Carto 2.0 a pour ambition de regrouper les acteurs (industriels, chercheurs et utilisateurs) francophones de la cartographie d’informations.
Face à la quantité exponentielle d’informations, les méthodes et outils de cartographie offrent la possibilité d’exploiter au mieux ce gisement informationnel. Les cartes permettent en amont d’organiser et d’appréhender des données, puis en aval d’évaluer et de communiquer les résultats obtenus. Cette journée sera également l’occasion de mettre en valeur l’apport des sciences cognitives, notamment sur le rôle majeur que joue la vision dans la pensée.

Cet événement est dédié à la cartographie d’informations et plus particulièrement à leur mise en scène sous différentes formes1 : cartes heuristiques, conceptuelles, sémantiques, etc.

Multi-lingual Taxonomy, Terminology and Thesaurus Server Eases Integration of Reference Vocabularies in Enterprise Information Systems

ITM T3 is based on Mondeca’s Intelligent Topic Manager semantic software platform, already in use by large organizations including Thomson, LexisNexis, Lafarge and Wolters Kluwer. ITM T3 will allow enterprises and organizations to manage reference vocabularies and make them interoperable with other information system applications such as search engine, text mining, translation and classification tools. Reference taxonomies and vocabularies may also be published in standard formats including XML, RDF, SKOS and Topic Maps.

Semantic Technology Expert Collaborating on TAO Project with Leading Industry and Academic Partners

Paris, France – 6 February 2007. Mondeca S.A., a leader in applying semantic technology to help organizations obtain maximum return from their accumulated knowledge and content, today announced that it is participating in a groundbreaking project to transition legacy applications to semantic Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs).

The goal of the TAO project is to define a low-cost route to transitioning legacy systems to open semantic SOAs in order to enable semantic interoperability between heterogeneous data resources and distributed applications.

Leveraging its real-world experience of moving legacy applications to semantic based solutions, Mondeca will help define methodologies for the transition process and will participate in an industrial case study to provide semantic support to aircraft maintenance business processes.
