Semantic indexing of text, video, image and sound content

Application module capable of managing the complete content indexing process: Text, Image, Video or Sound.

The module co-ordinates the various phases of the indexing process using a number of different services: text mining, automatic categorisation, suggestion and validation of metadata using reference material managed by ITM T3, to ultimately provide a set of verified metadata in the required format.

The organisation of content, ease of access to it, its re-use and distribution within different editorial products or applications requires detailed management of the associated metadata.

The ITM content indexing (or semantic annotation) solution enables the metadata implementation process to be managed by associating automated processes and human operations.

• Taxonomy, thesaurus, ontology management for metadata verification (see ITM T3)
  
  • metadata schema support: RDF, Exif, Mpeg, specific, etc. according to the content type
  • management of rich metadata schema: thematic, geographic, time-based, products, persons, organisations, source, etc.

• User help: navigation and searching within taxonomies for metadata selection and automated metadata suggestion

• Automated indexing for textual and multimedia content: image, sound, video
  
  • automated processing of unstructured text documents to identify the subject covered and select metadata (using automated categorisation and text mining modules - in partnership with TEMIS)
  • automatic addition of metadata using knowledge managed in the reference material (e.g.: Indexing on "Laure Manaudou" results in the suggestion of indexing on "Swimming")
  • verifying the value of metadata and conversion to normalised metadata
  • normalisation of pre-existing metadata conforming to company reference material.

• Making metadata available to management systems for image, text, video, metadata database content (RDF export, access via API or web service)
