Automated updating of a knowledge base/ontology

Module for automatically updating reference materials and knowledge bases.

This module allows the integration of external text mining* applications configured in order to extract subjects and their relationships from unstructured texts

* e.g. solutions developed by our partner TEMIS

The extraction results are set against the content of the reference material managed within ITM and processed in order to:

• add subjects (people, products, molecules, companies)
• enrich subject attributes (localisation, age, price, date, etc.)
• add relationships between subjects (has repurchased, has an effect on, is a partner of, is associated with a particular law, etc.)
• add events to the reference material (repurchase of X by Y, interaction of molecules Z and Y, etc.)

The update results may be subject to validation operations by users, who are alerted to all update proposals.

Applications

This technology has been successfully implemented for customers such as Thomson Scientific, Lexis Nexis France, Press Index, among others, enabling significant increases in productivity, real-time processing of large volumes of data, guaranteed regular updating of reference material from literature in the domain.
